Your attention is drawn to a recent campaign of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) extortion attacks targeting various organisations, notably the financial sector, in different countries. Attackers would first give a warning of launching DDoS attack against an organisation unless the organisation pays the demanded ransom in Bitcoin. 2. In this connection, we would like to remind members to review your security measures and take all necessary actions to strengthen the protection against DDoS attacks and report immediately if there is any abnormality that would have impact on the Hong Kong Internet infrastructure.
