⬅️ backed Librem 5 but also wondering about IME support in Linux desktop environments
Especially for touchscreen
And if you want to find UBports developer it is also relatively easier to seek in Chinese (as in China people) groups.
well why would IME be any different from what's on Android or iOS? A virtual OSK with Pinyin or Bopomofo for Chinese language
I'm seeking in Taiwan because I live in Taiwan, and I want to try build a group of people I can actually meet in person.
Also, not UBports developers, but hackers who exploit limits of any Linux OS on mobile, which currently boils down to mainly UBports and Plasma Mobile, but hopefully will grow over time
I started a project called ATU - All Things Ubuntu, open source, which will aim at making any Ubuntu devices (computers, phablets, single board computers, iot, etc) into an ecosystem. I want to eventually popularize that too, it will have storng connection to UBports, but will not be dependend from it, ratehr a general Ubuntu purpose system for integrated and distributed user experience
Some IMEs are different than others. Like, consecutive inputs of bopomofo and key position correction etc. The closest IME to touchscreen based one I tried is Rime but I don't know about libpinyin and such.
The one I used to is Chewing which cannot input a sentence directly but character by character.
Seems chewing support is available but I haven't tried.
I also have not because I can't use chewing, I only can use pinyin for Chinese input
